TAP's Database of Public Art Practices in Lebanon
Our Database of Public Art Practices is an on-going research project archiving public art interventions that have taken place in Lebanon from 1980 to present day.
Cathy Weyders (b. 1981, Belgium) develops her work through installations and polymorphic sculptures. These installations often take the appearance of organic houses which can appear as monsters, fantasy architecture or futuristic surgery rooms. Spaces that the visitor can observe and penetrate at the same time. She is interested in nomadic architecture and built some-tents-shelters-nests-rafts…The notion of territory and refuge are subjects that influence her relation to space, questioning the concepts of comfort, protection and fragility, and survival..
