Radical Care and Hospitality: an Invitation to Rest

Artist Residencies

August 10 - 25 2025

Hospitalfield, Scotland

In collaboration with Hospitalfield (Arbroath, Scotland), TAP organized Radical Care and Hospitality: an Invitation to Rest, a two-week fully funded residency in Hospitalfield dedicated to rest as a form of resistance, care, and collective renewal. Taking place from August 10–25, 2025, the residency invited creatives, researchers, writers, activists, and cultural workers based in Lebanon to step away from conditions of urgency and productivity in order to reflect, restore, and reconnect.

Rather than focusing on production or outcomes, the residency centers rest itself as a necessary cultural and political practice. Through a nomination process, artist Alaa Itani was selected to partake.

The residency covers visa fees, roundtrip ticket (Lebanon / Scotland), accommodation in Scotland, international travel insurance, transport to/from the airport in Scotland.

This residency was supported by the British Council Momentum Fund.
