Call for Nominators:

Radical Care and Hospitality

#Hospitalfield, Scotland

We are inviting thoughtful and engaged individuals to serve as nominators for our upcoming residency in collaboration with Hospitalfield in Scotland. This residency aims to provide space and resources for creatives, thinkers, and change-makers to explore rest as an act of resistance and renewal.

The residency will support participants working across disciplines—art, writing, activism, research, and beyond—who are committed to reframing rest not only as a personal need but also as a cultural and systemic necessity.

We are seeking nominators who can identify potential residents whose work and lived experiences align with this vision.

What We Ask of Nominators:

  • Nominate up to two individuals or collectives for consideration.
  • Provide a short statement (250-500 words) explaining why your nominee is a strong fit for the residency.
  • Ensure nominees are aware of your nomination and willing to participate if selected.

What We’re Looking For in Nominees:

  • Individuals or collectives whose work engages with the concept of rest in meaningful ways.
  • Individuals or collectives addressing rest as a form of justice, healing, or resistance.

The residency will cover: visa fees, roundtrip ticket (Lebanon / Scotland), accommodation in Scotland, international travel insurance, transport to/from the airport in Scotland.

Conditions

When you think of an artist or cultural worker to nominate, please consider the following:

  1. They must be currently based in Lebanon
  2. They must be at least 18 years old at the time of travel
  3. They must have a valid passport
  4. They must be able to travel and participate in the residency from August 10 to August 25, 2025

Expectations

The residency is focused on rest, and no artistic outcome is expected of the participant.
