Kellon

Nada Sehnaoui

In this intervention Nada Sehnaoui drowns the last page of Al-Akhbar newspaper in red paint. She leaves behind only one legible word: “kellon” which repeats in several lines on the page. Referring back to the popular chants from the August 2015 garbage crisis protests in Lebanon, the word (which translates to “all of them”) begs for the resignation of the entire cohort of the political elite who have kept the country in deadlock for decades. All of them. Without any exception.
