Cedar IV: A Reconstitution
Joana Hadjithomas and Khalil Joreige
Cedar IV: A Reconstitution is a scale reproduction of the original 8-meter long rocket, differing only in its white color. Cedar IV: A Reconstitution traversed through the streets of Beirut to return to Haigazian University – its place of origin – where it is permanently installed. With its evocation of missiles, it conjures the temporal distance between the rocket’s presence and our own. It is only within the confines of the university that the rocket can be recognized for what it is: an artistic and scientific project.
