Infinity Bound
Nelly Chemaly
Nelly Chemaly’s work consists of a huge spiral of chunky sea salt surrounded by a ring of white bathroom tiles carrying a verse in Arabic and English written by the artist: “We come from Infinity. We live in Infinity. We will go back to Infinity. We are the embodiement of Infinity.” This artwork created a lot of controversy with the mosque-goers that found the writings profane and the tiles were washed clean.
