In the Black Campaign
Studio Beirut
In the black was an initiative which involved sending a group of volunteers into the streets of Beirut and tagging different places as “مكان عام, lieu public, public space?”. This teaser campaign meant to question the existence of public spaces and what the volunteers considered to be public spaces. This campaign was carried out on the night that Pierre Gemayel was assassinated, on a heightened security day. The campaign was able to tag the Martyr’s square monument but not the Place de l’Étoile.
